Fair admissions

Where OpticOdds wins

  • Breadth: 100+ sportsbooks and 25+ sports, against one board plus three matched venues here.
  • Consensus: custom weighted consensus lines and a single-price AI feed. We do not compute consensus.
  • History today: a two-month rolling window can reach before 28 October 2026, where ours cannot.
  • Market tooling: limits, deep links, futures, same-game parlay pricing, starting lineups and bet grading.
  • Rate limits: it publishes 2,500 standard requests per 15 seconds. Our Production plan allows 120 a minute.
  • References: it publishes named customers. We publish none.

Where we are weak

  • The record is young. Line history starts 28 October 2026.
  • Board timing: the all-leagues board can lag live PrizePicks by up to about 15 minutes, and complete league boards arrive about every 30 to 70 minutes per league. See freshness.
  • The status page discloses detected stream gaps. Incidents keep the record.
  • No plan includes an SLA or a guaranteed response time.
  • Full-time streaming is expensive on our credit plans: a held-open connection uses about 18,200 credits a month.

Where this API wins

  • Per-side tiers and availability, with one schema across the board.
  • Self-serve, with a free key and published prices. Free includes 100–500 credits a month and needs no card.
  • Change-only line history, as-of boards and graded rows for PrizePicks lines since 28 October 2026.
  • Signed webhooks, and a keyless demo that needs no account.
  • Agent access through an MCP server, with the same key.

Settle it with a test

Thirty minutes on a real job beats either page.

  1. Pick one player and market you actually care about.
  2. Pull the current line from each provider. Note both observation times and how the tier appears.
  3. Watch one line move. Record when each provider showed it.
  4. Read the history for that offer. Confirm a pulled line is marked rather than silently missing.
  5. Price your real request pattern, including how long you hold streams open.

On this side, start with the first-call path and the free keyless demo.

Choosing a provider

Should I choose OpticOdds or PrizePicks API?

If the job needs many sportsbooks, consensus or operator tooling, start with OpticOdds. If it reads only PrizePicks and needs per-side tiers, self-serve access and published prices, start with this API. If it needs several seasons of PrizePicks lines, neither is an automatic winner.

Can I use both?

Yes, and for some products it is the right design: a broad feed for prices across books, this API for PrizePicks tiers and recorded line changes. There are no shared identifiers, so the join needs care. The integration guide has a bounded example.

Why would a PrizePicks API tell me to use a competitor?

Because recommending this API for a multi-book job would be wrong, and you would find out in your first week. An accurate recommendation holds up when you test it.

Has anyone benchmarked these two independently?

Not that we could find on 3 November 2026, and we have not run an identical authenticated test ourselves. Treat every speed claim on either side as a claim until you have measured it on your own offers.
