Terms of Service

1. Agreement

prizepicksapi.com (the “Service”) is operated by PP API Inc. (“we”, “us”). These Terms apply when you create an account, use an API key, call any endpoint, or visit the site. By doing any of those you agree to them. If you use the Service for a company, you agree on its behalf and confirm you can.

2. What the Service is

The Service is a developer API and website that publishes player-prop projections as they appear on the public PrizePicks board, together with line history, a change feed, a real-time stream, webhooks, graded results and related data we derive from our own observations.

We are independent. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by PrizePicks or any sportsbook, league or team. Their names are used only to describe the data. All trademarks belong to their owners.

3. Not betting advice

The data is information, not advice. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation to place any entry, wager or trade. You decide how to use it and you carry the outcome of those decisions.

You are responsible for following the law where you live and where your users are, including age limits and any rules on fantasy contests or sports wagering. Do not use the Service where that use is unlawful.

4. Data provided as is

We work hard to keep the data fresh and correct, and we publish our live freshness on the status page. Even so, the Service and all data are provided “as is” and “as available”. Lines can be late, missing, changed or wrong, upstream sources can change or stop, and the Service can be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim every warranty, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

5. Accounts and API keys

• Give a real email address and keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys.
• One person or organisation per account. Do not share keys with other people or companies, sell them, or publish them. Rotate a key at once if it leaks.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.

6. Acceptable use

You may build apps, tools, models, alerts and analysis on the data, and show it to your own users inside your product. You may not:

• resell, sublicense or redistribute the raw feeds, bulk history or exports as a data product of their own, beyond what your plan or a written licence from us allows;
• get around rate limits or plan quotas, including by creating several accounts or rotating keys;
• probe, scan or attack the Service, interfere with other users, or try to reach data or systems you are not given access to;
• use the Service to break any law or anyone else’s rights, or to claim that we, PrizePicks or anyone else endorses you.

Each plan has a monthly request allowance and a per-minute rate limit, listed on the pricing page. Requests over a limit receive a 429 response. For redistribution licences or bulk history, write to support@prizepicksapi.com.

7. Plans, billing and cancellation

• The Free plan costs nothing and needs no card. Paid plans are Developer ($49/month) and Production ($149/month), billed monthly in advance in US dollars through Stripe, our payment processor. Prices exclude any taxes that apply.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. Cancel any time from Billing in your workspace, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then moves to Free.
• Upgrades take effect at once. Stripe may prorate the difference.
• If a payment fails, we may limit your account to the Free plan until it is paid.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email. A new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period, and you can cancel before then.

8. Refunds

Payments are not refundable, including for partial months, unused requests or downgrades, except where the law requires a refund. If you were charged in error or the Service was unavailable for a long stretch, write to support@prizepicksapi.com within 30 days and we will look at it in good faith.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@prizepicksapi.com. We may suspend or close an account, or revoke keys, if you break these Terms, create risk for the Service or other users, do not pay, or if we must for legal reasons. Where it is reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may also discontinue the Service; if we do, we will give paid subscribers at least 30 days’ notice and refund any prepaid period we do not provide.

Sections on data provided as is, liability, and governing law survive termination.

10. Our content and your content

The software, documentation, site design and the history, change records and grades we compile belong to us. Subject to these Terms and your plan, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them while your account is in good standing. Code you write against the API is yours. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, winnings, data or goodwill, arising from the Service or these Terms. Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim. For Free plan users that amount is zero.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they apply to you only as far as your local law permits.

12. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used the Service or because you broke these Terms, you will cover our reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, cancel before they take effect.

14. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute about them or the Service are governed by the laws of the British Virgin Islands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the British Virgin Islands have jurisdiction over any such dispute.

If you use the Service as a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away the protection of mandatory consumer-protection law in the country where you live, which still applies to you.
