PrizePicks lines API: base lines, promotions and sides

What the PrizePicks lines API returns: provider base lines, side-level More and Less availability, nullable payouts, and the context it does not model.

PrizePicks API2 min read

The PrizePicks lines API returns base lines. Promotions, payouts and side availability are separate fields, and mixing them up produces misleading analysis.

Base lines only

Returned lines are provider base lines, and promotional eligibility and the effective customer offer are not modeled. Reported promotion fields in source_context never replace the base line.

More and Less

The selections array carries side-level availability and tier, and More and Less may differ. Projection requests accept league, search, stat, tier, status, limit and cursor parameters.

Payouts and probabilities

The payout_multiplier field is only populated when actually available, and null is not zero. The service does not infer sportsbook odds or winning probabilities from a PrizePicks line. Results and official platform settlements are separate concepts from projection lines.

How lines change over time

The /changes endpoint is a cursor-based stream of new, changed, unavailable and restored offers. The /projections/{id}/history endpoint returns retained observations for a projection, with line, status and timestamp. The first_seen_at field is the earliest observation retained by the service, not necessarily the opening offer.

Checking that a line is current

By default, live projections include only active offers present in the latest successful collection for their scope and confirmed within the last 30 minutes. The observed_at field records when an observation was collected. The meta.source_status field gives source-health context, because a successful HTTP response alone is not a freshness guarantee.

Popularity and context fields

Popularity counts are source-reported and their definition is unverified.
