PrizePicks API CSV export: bounded projection records
What the PrizePicks API CSV export returns, how it is authenticated and metered, and when the change and history endpoints are a better fit.
The PrizePicks API CSV export is a convenience for spreadsheet and notebook work. It is bounded, so it should be planned like any other request.
What the export returns
The /export endpoint returns a bounded CSV export of matching projection records. Projection requests accept league, search, stat, tier, status, limit and cursor parameters.
Authentication and quota
Authenticated requests send the API key in the Authorization header as a Bearer token. Revoking a key prevents subsequent authenticated requests, and all keys in a workspace share the plan request allowance. The Free plan includes 1,000 requests per month at 10 requests per minute. The Developer plan costs $49 per month and includes 100,000 requests per month at 60 requests per minute. A 429 response means the request rate or monthly allowance was exceeded.
Reading exported rows correctly
The observed_at field records when an observation was collected. The first_seen_at field is the earliest observation retained by the service, not necessarily the opening offer. Returned lines are provider base lines, and promotional eligibility and the effective customer offer are not modeled. The payout_multiplier field is only populated when actually available, and null is not zero.
When the export is not the right tool
For a running history, the incremental endpoints fit better than repeated exports.
The /changes endpoint is a cursor-based stream of new, changed, unavailable and restored offers. The /projections/{id}/history endpoint returns retained observations for a projection, with line, status and timestamp. Clients should use retry backoff, respect rate-limit headers, and avoid refreshing a full board independently for every end user.
