PrizePicks API coverage: leagues, markets and source status

How to check PrizePicks API coverage by league and market, why declared coverage is not board completeness, and which health signals to read.

By PrizePicks API2 min read

PrizePicks API coverage is declared by the service rather than implied by whatever a single response happens to contain.

The coverage endpoint

The /coverage endpoint reports declared league and market coverage, timestamps, and source status. The /projections endpoint returns current observations, filterable by league, market, player, tier and status.

Coverage is not completeness

Declared coverage says what the service collects. It does not promise that every offer in scope was captured on every run.

Missing offers from a partial board are excluded from current results without inventing a confirmed removal event. A single page of results should not be read as a complete board. A delayed or blocked source can therefore return fewer rows.

Health signals

The meta.source_status field gives source-health context, because a successful HTTP response alone is not a freshness guarantee. By default, live projections include only active offers present in the latest successful collection for their scope and confirmed within the last 10 minutes. The observed_at field records when an observation was collected.

Reading older observations

The status=all filter exposes retained observations, including older offers, whose timestamps should be checked before use. The /projections/{id}/history endpoint returns retained observations for a projection, with line, status and timestamp.

Trying it without a key

The public sample endpoint uses fictional players and deterministic observations, requires no key, and does not consume a workspace allowance. Sample responses include is_demo: true and meta.mode "demo", and they are never substituted into live endpoints. The production base path is /api/v1, and public samples use /api/v1/demo.

Guides explain our documented API. Automated reports use stored observations, disclose their collection time, and skip stale inputs. Reports are historical records, not recommendations, results, or live odds. Check current source health.
